1.  11th grade will:
  • find out if they have to argue the YES, FOR, PRO or the NO, AGAINST, CON side of their debate topic.  Good luck; may you pick the one you want, and condolences to those that have to argue a side they do not want, but will be a greater learning experience than arguing a side you agree with.
  • continue your debate development: research, write your position statement, finish your packet (due after your debate)
2.  10th grade will:
  • check your homework on page 105 of your text
  • analyze the article on Ali, the community hero who volunteers to help the disabled.
  • begin your own exploration of a community hero for your E-CART report next Wednesday, 13 March 2013.  Page 70 in your workbook.
    • Discuss organization
    • Discuss techniques to use:  anecdote, quotations and dialogue, background information
    • Discuss the development of interview questions
    • Discuss grading rubric
  • work on writing techniques for persuasive effect, page 68 in workbooks - word choice.
