I. 10th Grade: Unit 4:
Can We Talk or How to ask good questions.
- We are going to practice our E-CART process today by reading and analyzing a short story by O. Henry, an American author.
- First we will watch a video overview of the story.
- Then we will read the story in small groups
- Next we will do a character analysis about the main character of the story,
- Finally we will do various activities on the E-CART chart.
II. 11th Grade: Unit 3:
Natural Disasters
- Text page 39 and 40: discussion of Natural disasters.
- Read, eyewitness account on page 42: I Survivied a Tornado.
- Write sensory details: hear, see, feel, smell, taste.
- Begin E-CART exploration and practice with O. Henry's two short stories: Randsom of Red Chief or Gift of the Magi
